The Dounreay Site Restoration Plan (DSRP) was issued in 2000 as part of UKAEA's response to an audit of the site by its regulators, the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII) and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) in 1998. Since the first DSRP was issued in 2000, there have been some significant developments in the regulator's view of decommissioning, and in particular site End States, and the potential for de-licensing sites. This project reviewed and updated the DSRP to take account of changes in the regulatory attitude towards decommissioning and in particular the objectives for the Site End State, and methods for demonstrating that these will be achieved.
