Application of Evidence Support Logic (ESL) to the Role of Palaeohydrogeology in Performance Assessment

The purpose of this study was to use the ESL approach to provide a structured logical analysis of the use of palaeohydrogeological evidence in support of site evaluation and safety case development. A fully parameterised, generic ESL model was produced, with the aim that this should be as comprehensive as possible for application to deep geological disposal in different rock types and for a variety of hydrogeological and geochemical environments. The ESL model was made available as an encoded model using the Quintessa ESL software tool (TESLA).
