Quintessa has a long tradition of providing placements to some of the most talented students
of mathematics and related disciplines.
The work is primarily related to mathematical and statistical modelling and applying software for long-term
environmental and energy problems such as quantitative assessments of radioactive waste
disposal. This is an excellent opportunity to make use of various skills and knowledge gained
at university.
Students require an ability to understand the physical systems being modelled, strong quantitative capabilities and motivation to learn new IT skills by working closely with other members of our team. In addition, students would be expected to contribute to general business tasks, including maintaining the company website and providing IT support. In return, Quintessa is pleased to pay a salary in the top quartile.
The placements are based in our office at Henley-on-Thames, close to the River Thames.
If you would like some first hand experience of the Quintessa student placement experience why not contact our former student Paul Dedross or our current students Alex Holstein and Neil Chittenden to get a first-hand account of life at Quintessa.
"The staff are friendly and happy to help with any problems. I've really enjoyed working in a small company like Quintessa."
"It's a great experience to apply what I've learnt in a working environment."
Placement students have an opportunity to be involved in a variety of work. For instance, previous student Paul Dedross developed a useful software tool, GraphGrabber.
