Quintessa makes use of a wide range of specialised software tools in order to provide quantitative input to decision making in the environment and energy sectors.

• Raiden is a general purpose geochemical transport code, designed for fully-coupled flow and transport problems in geochemically evolving regions.
• TESLA is a general purpose decision support modelling application based on Evidence Support Logic.

In addition the Quintessa-online web site provides a range of online modelling and assessment tools designed to encourage involvement of a wide range of stakeholders in decision making.

Bespoke Software

Some examples of bespoke software packages developed for clients by Quintessa's mathematics and software group are highlighted below, with links to further information.

• PRISM has been developed for the UK Food Standards Agency to provide a powerful capability for undertaking deterministic and probabilistic foodchain calculations.
• FracAffinity has been developed for JNC to model saturated and unsaturated flow in fractured (stochastic and/or deterministic discrete features) and/or permeable geological media.
• SimER is a powerful time-dependent Performance Assessment code developed for BNFL/Nexia Solutions Ltd.

Third Party Software

Quintessa collaborates with a range of third party software vendors in order to provide leading edge solutions to our clients.

In collaboration with Enviros Consulting Limited, Quintessa develops and supports the AMBER compartmental modelling tool.

Quintessa works in partnership with GoldSim Technology Group to provide consultancy and training support in the application of GoldSim to understand the behaviour of complex systems in business, engineering and science.

Quintessa makes use of Petrel to provide a 3-D geological modelling service.

Quintessa maintains a GIS data management capability based on the open source product GRASS, originally developed by the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories.

Quintessa provides a 3-D hydrogeological modelling service utilizing the state of the art code FEFLOW.
