David Collier

David is a specialist consultant with over 30 years’ experience in three key aspects of decision making: structured methods; human factors/human error; and stakeholder involvement. He has held industry posts and led management consultancy teams focused on each of these areas and is an experienced project manager, facilitator and interviewer with many years experience of working with industry, regulators and communities. David has been increasingly involved in the evolution and application of structured option assessment and strategy development methodologies for clients, with a particular reputation as an independent methodology and ‘lessons learned’ peer reviewer on high-profile projects, often in the nuclear sector. He was appointed in 2010 as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and now lectures on risk assessment and deliberative/analytic consultancy on its Advanced Decision Sciences MSc module.

Interests

David is interested in all aspects of decision making and the reasons we make the choices we do, including traditional methods for reaching conclusions and achieving consensus. His fortune telling act is always in demand at family events and he has been invited to present a paper this spring in Lithuania on the management consultancy skills of the priests of ancient Delphi.
