Mark Pogson

Mark Pogson
Location: Warrington

Mark has a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Bristol, and a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Sheffield, where he developed an agent-based model of a signalling pathway. He has worked as a researcher at the University of Sheffield modelling acoustic scattering, and at the University of Aberdeen where he performed spatial modelling of energy crop growth and soil greenhouse gas fluxes, which included software development. Before joining Quintessa, Mark was a lecturer in Applied Mathematics at Liverpool John Moores University, where his research included modelling proteomics, biomechanics and cell migration, using both mechanistic and machine learning approaches.

Mark is a big fan of the outdoors, and goes cycling as much as he can. When indoors, he torments himself with an interest in politics, which is all the more reason for him to get out on his bike.
