Richard Little

Richard has a BSc in Geology and Geography from St Andrews University and an MSc in Engineering Hydrology from Newcastle University.  He has over 25 years’ consultancy experience in the development, documentation and review of safety assessments and safety cases for both near-surface and deep radioactive waste disposal facilities.  He has worked for disposal and regulatory agencies in a wide range of countries including Canada, Finland, France, Japan, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA.  He has also worked as an expert consultant for the International Atomic Energy Agency; undertaking expert missions to various countries, lecturing on waste management training courses, and co-authoring nine documents on radioactive waste disposal.  Richard has been a Director of Quintessa Limited since 2005, Operations Director since May 2012, and was appointed Managing Director in January 2016.

Much of Richard’s free time is devoted to squash. On court, he keeps mentally and physically fit playing in a local league. Off court, he refines his project management skills as chair of the Henley Junior Squash Club. When time allows, he’s also to be seen out and about in the South Oxfordshire countryside on foot or bike, but never too far from a Brakspear’s pub. Born and bred within a few miles of the “Theatre of Dreams”, Richard is proud to be from the red half of Manchester.
