Former Quintessa Placement Student Awarded Prize

Quintessa is pleased to share that former placement student Rosie Burt has recently been awarded a prize for creating one of the top five placement posters in the Mathematical Sciences department at the University of Bath.

Rosie undertook her placement year with us during 2024/2025, as part of her undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science. Hosting placement students is part of Quintessa's STEM outreach activities designed to inspire future generations to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects.

On returning to university in September 2025, students were tasked with creating a poster summarising their placement-year experience, which they then presented to academic staff and second-year students interested in applying for placements of their own. Rosie proudly represented Quintessa at this event, answering questions about what it was like to work with us, and sharing some highlights from her year – such as her work on developing automated tests for our AMBER software.

The award was a great way for Rosie round off a successful placement year with Quintessa!
