AMBER has been used to assess the fate of agrochemicals in the environment and their potential for health impacts.

For example, following a review of the key processes affecting the transport and fate of organic pesticides in soil, an AMBER model was constructed that represented soil slopes and profiles. The model included transport in soil water, sorption onto different soil solids and both chemical and physical degradation processes. Calculations enabled the sensitivity of the system to the various processes to be explored and the results were used to identify priority areas for research and development.
