Building on its previous experience, Quintessa is available to support Early Risk Assessment studies for operators who have applied for Carbon Dioxide Appraisal and Storage Licensing Round 2 from the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA).
Once awarded a Carbon Dioxide Appraisal and Storage Licence, operators must develop an Early Risk Assessment and appoint two external technical experts to review the assessment and provide feedback both to the operator and to the NSTA. Quintessa has experience of both the preparation of Early Risk Assessment documentation for Spirit Energy and the review of ten other licences (e.g. the Northern Endurance Partnership) awarded during NSTA’s Carbon Dioxide Appraisal and Storage Licensing Round 1.
We provide constructive feedback on improvements to the assessment methodology and documentation, ensuring that assessments are backed up with clear justification, with the aim of supporting operators in meeting the NSTA’s requirements. We acknowledge the early stage of the work and advise on further work that would be helpful. Both operators and the NSTA have found Quintessa’s inputs helpful and constructive.
