Quintessa is pleased to announce that the latest version of AMBER has been released. AMBER 6.8 introduces the capability of using Software Licensing (SL) keys associated with a specific PC as an alternative to the existing Hardware Licensing (HL) keys (USB).
SL keys will be used by default for AMBER licensing for all new AMBER sales. Existing customers can continue to use their HL keys with the licence updates associated with new releases. Any existing customers wishing to transition from HL to SL keys, or new customers with a specific requirement for HL keys, can for further details.
Other developments and bug fixes introduced to AMBER 6.8 include the following:
- enabling parameter editor ‘Check’ and ‘Expand Options’ when parameters are locked / QA-approved to support exploring parameters in case files using these features;
- various improvements for interacting with the spatial view including dragging spatial points to the corner of the model, ensuring the grid spacing persists on reloading a case and snapping points to the grid when clicking to add points;
- permitting observer parameter expressions to be checked within the parameter editor;
- resolving evaluation issues for self-referable parameters with dual multiplicity which could prevent calculations from proceeding;
- when using Batch Mode, making the handling of the working directory from control files more intuitive with relative paths and resolving an issue with the LOAD command failing to find the ADF file for an already calculated case; and
- updating supported operating systems to be Windows 10 and Windows 11.
